Achray is one of the smallest campgrounds in Algonquin, but one of the secluded and quiet ones too. Many people regularly camp here just for these qualities. The campground is lined with tall pine trees. There are flush toilets but no shower or laundry facilities. The campground offers great hiking opportunities, some of the best Algonquin trails are located close by – Berm Trail, Barron Canyon Trail, Jack Pine’s Trail & High Falls. Expect a long drive in dirt road to reach this campground. Achray also offers access points to many backcountry campsites

Algonquin Memories...

Childhood memories of camping at Algonquin can be as real as actually being there! The cousins and I, the puppies, the new friends, the open air with the smell of nature...Ah! Algonquin, guard our memories for us and we will be back to make more. xoxo

Love this campground for its seclude and quietness

This is a small campground located far from the hustle and bustle of the popular park. The city folks tend to hover around the Highway60 and this campground is far from it. Many sites have lake view and there is a nice swimming area as well Pros: Secluded, beautiful, quiet and hiking Cons: No shower facilities but that's okay for me

Perfect base-camp for paddling and access to backcountry

This is by far my most favorite campground in Algonquin. This remote but popular campgrounds gets filled up quickly during the summer. The campground is little off the main roads and is a perfect base-camp for doing some paddling or backpacking. Close to the Barron Canyon and the popular High Falls swimming area. Small park office and store with a few basics. Quiet and relaxing

Nice secluded campground, my favourite in Algonquin

If you are looking for a car camping experience, with nice camp sites, good beaches, and lots of quiet, you should consider Achray. The campground is relatively remote compared to other ones in Algonquin, but quite popular and gets booked up pretty fast in Summer. Close to Barron Canyon and High falls
