About the Park

Located on the Ottawa River, Fitzroy is a family favorite for many in the region. In Summer, the park offers campgrounds with large sites, a beautiful river beach, picnic benches and hiking spots. In Winter, the park is popular for cross country skiing.

Great but noisy
The biggest plus of this site is that its close to Ottawa and it has a really nice and roomy beach. You can rent Canoe or kayak for a very reasonable price or just enjoy the water BUT we were there during the weekend and there was no lifeguard. Also, people with kayaks or sup boards frequently entered the bordered swim area. As for camping, the site size is great but there are extremely crowded which creates a lot of car traffic and it was extremely noisy. There were loud noises after 11pm felt like I was camping in my backyard. We had a good experience (the kids had a good time) but I dont think I will return as a camper.

We stayed at Fitzroy for 5 nights. Had a wonderful time. Our site backed onto the river and was a good size. The beach was nice but kind of far away. The park was quite at night, good for sleeping.
