Awenda has 6 campgrounds, most of which are well-spaced campsites shaded beneath Sugar Maples and Red Oaks and provide a cool oasis from the summer heat. Hawk and Turtle campgrounds are the farthest from waterbody in Awenda but are close to park entrance.
Turtle Campground offers traditional campsites and is the furthest away from the beach although most campers from all campgrounds find it preferable to drive to the beach which is a 5 to 10 minute drive. There are no electric sites in Turtle campground.
